WE BLOCKED

We dried. We removed various cats helping to hold it down. We tried it on. It got bigger, a lot bigger after washing. Perhaps 2 sizes bigger.

It is too big.

Big.

Way too Big.

A thought: I knew the yarn would grow after washing and I took that into consideration when I swatched. Would washing the yarn upfront mitigate this issue?

so sad!

Did you wash the swatch? I had to do that with my aurora 8. it is incredible.

At least we will only make that mistake once, huh?
(trying to find something positive...hehe)

I did wash (and I did seven swatches!). I was stunned when it grew. I could just feel it expand in the water. Well, live and learn to knit another day. : - )

I must say, I always thought things shrunk when you washed them, oh well, what do I know?

Your kitties look marvelous against the green!

Oh, Earin! I was just looking through the Eye Candy Friday blogs and wanted to check on this sweater. I'm so sorry it grew so much! I've had luck with getting this yarn to not expand too much by knitting it at about 7 stitches per inch in stockinette on size 2 needles and then blocking it out to 6.5 stitches per inch.
